We seek an experienced Public Health Program Associate to join our Public Health team and contribute to growing the mission and impact.
Position Summary
The Public Health Program Associate will play a vital role in executing various health initiatives, research projects, and community engagement efforts. This position involves providing essential support in program management, data collection, stakeholder communication, and the dissemination of public health information. The Associate will work to ensure projects are implemented effectively, meet established objectives, and adhere to timelines and budgets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Project Management: Coordinate the day-to-day operations of assigned public health programs and research studies, including scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking project milestones.
- Research & Evaluation: Design and conduct community-based research and evaluation activities, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
- Data Management: Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data to assess program performance, reach, and impact.
- Communication & Outreach: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, community organizations, and internal teams. Support community education, policy, and legislative initiatives. Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and informational materials for assigned initiatives as requested.
- Program Development: Contribute to the development of public health educational materials, campaigns, and community interventions, ensuring cultural responsiveness and alignment with best practices.
- Grant Support: Assist with the preparation of grant proposals, progress reports, and documentation required by funding agencies.
- Administrative Support: Collaborate with internal teams to design and refine culturally responsive public health campaigns. Maintain accurate project documentation, data systems, and records, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements.
- New Business Development Support: Assist with solicitation and RFP (Request for Proposal) responses, including drafting technical components, compiling required materials, and ensuring adherence to submission deadlines. Identify potential new partners and opportunities for partnerships. Attend networking events and conferences to represent the Agency’s brands and build relationships that support public health initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in project coordination, public health program management, community-based research, or a related field. Experience in tobacco and vaping prevention and control is a plus!
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, statistical software, or Tableau).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Spanish and English-fluent speakers preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity to read computer screens, documents, and detailed information.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Occasional need to stand, walk, bend, and reach to access files and office supplies.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment
This position may be office-based or hybrid/remote, depending on the organization. Occasional local travel to community events, partner meetings, or program sites may be required. Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate community engagement activities may be necessary.
