PODER Health & Wellness Expo Roadshow is a series of community events that provide communities of color, the low-income community and, particularly, the older adult community, with the power, knowledge and motivation to take an active role in their health.
The mission of the PODER events is to reach Pennsylvania’s largest and most vulnerable populations and connect them with education and resources that empower them to make healthy and responsible lifestyle choices.
Color & Culture catalyst Latino Connection partnered with health organizations on the local and state level to provide these vulnerable communities with health resources and access to health-related education. PODER Health & Wellness Expo Roadshow targeted audiences from Lancaster, Lebanon, Harrisburg and Reading.
Close to 3,000 people took part in activities such as live cooking demonstrations with Chef Dave, live fitness activities like POUND with Crunch Fitness, story time with Curious George and more. Additionally, the events resulted in 329 health screenings.
