4th Annual Latino Health Summit To Spark a Revolution In Lehigh Valley For Latino Wellbeing

Latino Connection, a Color & Culture Catalyst, in collaboration with Aetna, is gearing up for the 4th Annual Latino Health Summit and the Adelante Health and Wellness Expo on April 19-20 at the Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. With the theme, “Fueling Revolution: Inspiring Change and Embracing Unity for Latino Wellbeing,” this year’s statewide event is poised to raise awareness about important challenges faced every day by the Latino community.

After hosting three highly successful past summits that increased awareness on issues that affect over 1,000,000 Pennsylvanians, the Latino Health Summit is now considered one of the most dynamic platforms for engaging discussions and collaborative efforts to elevate the quality of life for the Latino population across the commonwealth.

From fostering community-based approaches to wellness to advocating for affordable housing or mental health, the two-day event will bring together public- and private-sector organizations, thought leaders and community members to sit at the table and discuss innovative solutions. The Summit will also feature vendors, insightful workshops, sharing practical experiences from local communities, fitness activities and more.

“The 4th Annual Latino Health Summit signifies a movement of positive change. It is a vital opportunity to address the unique health needs of our community and work collectively towards solutions,” said George Fernandez, founder and CEO of Latino Connection, highlighting the significance of the Summit as a long-term commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion.“As we evolve, the Summit stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering inclusivity, equity and help shape the future of the Latino community in the state of Pennsylvania.”

Lehigh Valley authorities are backing up this initiative, including Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk. “My administration is committed to creating a safe, clean and healthy environment for all in Allentown,” Mayor Tuerk said, recognizing the importance of fostering inclusivity and healthcare equity. “I’m thrilled to have partners like Latino Connection join our effort to improve health outcomes for residents in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Hispanic community.” This collaboration reinforces the community-wide commitment to addressing disparities and ensuring every individual has access to opportunities for well-being.

This year’s topics are carefully selected to shine a spotlight on both challenges and successes in Latino health, including community-based approaches to health and wellness. Some of the topics to be discussed include: Food Insecurity, Homelessness and Affordable Housing, Workforce Development, Sexual Health, Digital Equity, Digital Literacy, Maternal and Child Health, Civic Engagement and Immigration, Oral Health, and Mental and Behavioral Health.

Numerous investment opportunities to fit various marketing and community outreach needs are still available for individuals or organizations interested in joining the Latino Health Summit and collaborating in the shared goal of improving underserved, minority community members’ lives in Pennsylvania and beyond.
